The Broad’s lighting design draws on its architectural theme of “the veil and the vault” – a reference to both the museum’s public exhibition space and its storage area for archived items. After dark, the cellular exoskeleton – the veil – appears to hover inside the enclose, which lifts up at the corners where lobby entrances are located.
